Main Function

Review Server is a function used to authenticate, compare and synchronize data between local data (Review Local) and actual data on the server (eg. SharePoint source...) before users perform Sync (official synchronization).

How to use the Review Service function

After completing local edits and performing a Review Local, follow these steps to review and verify your data against the server before synchronization.

Step 1: Prepare the environment

  • Ensure you are logged into the eXsync system successfully.
  • Complete the Review Local process first.
  • Verify that data file or sheet is properly connected to the system (e.g., eTask, eBug objects).

Step 2: Click Review Server

  • Click the Review Server button on right panel
  • The system will starts checking the local data against the server data.

Step 3: System validation and comparison

  • The system compares all records edited locally with the corresponding records on the server.
  • During this process, the following validations are performed:
    • Data existence: Checks if the item still exists on the server.

    • Data accuracy: Compares each field’s value (e.g., ID, Name, Description, Status).

    • Timestamp check: Detects if another user has already modified the same record on the server.

Step 4: Review the validation result

  • After the system finishes checking, a result message is displayed:

    • Valid: Local data matches server data. You can proceed to Sync.

    • Invalid: Data is missing or not found on the server (deleted or format error).

    • Conflict: Data has changed on the server since your last update. Manual review is require.

Step 5: Handle conflict or invalid data

  • If conflicts are detected:
    • Review the conflicting records displayed in the dropdown list of action status column.

    • Choose one of the following options:

      • Overwrite: local data to server (force update).

      • Discard Change: local change (keep server data).
    • Update or correct data as necessary, then click Review Server again to recheck.

Step 6: Confirm and proceed

  • Once all records are validated successfully:
    • Click Sync to upload confirmed data to the server.
    • Or choose Save Local if you prefer to keep changes temporarily.
